Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how ChannelScope handles account, channel and analytics data when you use the product.
1. Information we collect
We collect information that is necessary to operate ChannelScope and provide the analytics features you expect.
- Account information. When you create an account, we may store basic information such as your email address and authentication identifiers.
- Connected YouTube channel information. When you connect a YouTube channel, we may store channel IDs, channel names, and related metadata needed to identify your channels inside the app.
- Analytics and revenue-related data. To power the revenue dashboard, we may process and store analytics data such as estimated revenue numbers, aggregated views and similar metrics that are returned by the YouTube APIs.
- Usage and technical information. We may collect basic technical logs and usage data (such as API errors and aggregate usage patterns) to maintain, debug and improve the service.
2. How we use information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide and operate the product and its core functionality.
- To show dashboard analytics, charts and insights based on your data.
- To monitor reliability, performance and security of the service.
- To communicate important product or account-related updates when necessary.
3. Connected YouTube accounts
You may choose to connect one or more YouTube channels to ChannelScope. This connection is initiated by you and relies on the official YouTube and Google APIs.
- We only request access scopes that are necessary to fetch analytics and channel information for the features in the product.
- The data obtained from connected accounts is used solely to provide analytics and related product functionality inside your dashboard.
- You can revoke access to your YouTube account at any time through your Google account settings or by disconnecting channels in the app.
4. Payments
If you choose a paid plan, billing may be handled by Stripe or a similar payment provider. In that case, payment details are processed directly by the provider and are not stored in full by ChannelScope.
We may store limited billing-related information such as subscription status, selected plan and the last four digits or expiry of a card as exposed by the billing provider, but not full card numbers.
5. Data retention
We generally retain account, channel and analytics data for as long as your account is active and as reasonably necessary to operate the service. We may also retain certain information for a longer period if required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as security, fraud prevention or record keeping.
6. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we store and to limit access to it to people who need it to operate the product. However, no online service can guarantee absolute security. You should also take care to keep your account credentials secure.
7. Contact
